5 Reasons The New York Giants Will Beat The Green Bay Packers
Not too many people think the New York Giants will beat the Green Bay Packers this coming Sunday in the NFC Divisional Playoffs. The odds makers certainly don’t believe in Big Blue who currently find themselves 7.5 point underdogs.
I understand it’s probably natural to gravitate towards Goliath (that’s why he is Goliath). I’m sure the Giants are very content with being David. Why wouldn’t they? We all know how that story ends!
The high point spread is what surprises me especially when the first meeting between these two teams was decided in the final seconds. Not too mention how much help the Packers received from referee Jeff Triplette and his crew during that game. This current Giants team is not the same squad Green Bay faced in the week 13 match-up, this team is much better! Continue reading
Pick Your Poison Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz or Mario Manningham
Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz and Mario Manningham all possess the ability to catch a short pass and turn it into a touchdown in the blink of an eye.
So opposing NFL teams pick your poison when it comes to covering New York Giants wide receivers.
On Sunday during the NFC Wild Card Playoff game the Atlanta Falcons learned just how difficult it is to defend these young and extremely talented group of receivers. Most of the talk this week centered around Victor Cruz of course after his last two performances. Atlanta defenders made it clear they were not going to allow the salsa dancing wide out to beat them for a big play but they failed to take into account New York’s Continue reading
Mario Manningham 27 Yard TD vs Atlanta Falcons
Giants wide receiver Mario Manningham 27 yard TD catch vs the Atlanta Falcons. A beautiful pass thrown by New York QB Eli Manning.
This score gave the GMEN a 24-2 lead and pretty much sealed the win in this NFC Wild Card playoff game.
New York has 3 very good wide receivers and they are all finally healthy at the same time. This team is looking scary! Here is the video of the Manningham touchdown reception. Continue reading
New York Giants Are The Most Dangerous Team in The Playoffs
Is it possible that the 9-7 New York Giants are the most dangerous team in the playoffs?
It may sound funny to some but the team has been playing much better and ended their regular season on a high note. Their tough schedule and all the adversity they faced during the season with injuries has made them stronger and tougher to beat.
Something else to consider is how they played the top teams in the NFC. The Green Bay Packers needed a last minute drive by Aaron Rodgers to secure a win. The game with the San Francisco 49ers also came down to the last possession. Both were extremely tight games which could have gone either way. The only team which blew the New York Giants out of the water was the New Orleans Saints and that is the only team that really Continue reading
NY Giants NFC East Champions – Defeat Cowboys 31-14
The dust has settled and the NY Giants are the NFC East Champions with a 31-14 victory over the Dallas Cowboys week 17.
A strong performance by New York who led the entire contest and played probably their most complete game of this up and down 2011 NFL season.
The GMEN showed up and played well on both sides of the field. Cowboys QB Tony Romo was under pressure for most of the game getting sacked 6 times. On offense the Eli Manning to Victor Cruz connection was in sync once again, they have become an unstoppable Continue reading
Kings of New York: Giants Beat The Jets
The anticipated week 16 game between the NY Giants vs the Jets leaves the GMEN as kings of New York with a 29-14 win!
A position which they truly have always had no matter how much it hurts Jets fans. NYC is a big blue town with some green specs sprinkled in. No matter how much of a big mouth Rex Ryan has he cannot change the fact the Jets will always be the little brother in the big apple.
Ryan can talk all he wants but he doesn’t have to take the field, his players do. It wasn’t a pretty game but a win is win especially in a playoff Continue reading
New York Giants Inexplicably Failed to Show Up Against Redskins
No other way to put it but inexplicable, the New York Giants failed to show up against the Washington Redskins week 15. The final score 23-10.
If you didn’t know the records or positioning of each team you would have thought the Redskins were fighting to get into the playoffs. In fact it is the Giants who are fortunate enough to even be in a position where they control their own destiny. Unfortunately they still found a way to play uninspired in this crucial game.
Week 15 was another embarrassing performance reminiscent of week 12 when they played the New Orleans Saints. Pathetic would also accurately describe the performance by Big Blue. The only New York Giants player who can hold his head up high is Jason Pierre-Paul. Continue reading
