49ers Sign Tippy Toeing Ballerina Brandon Jacobs
Like the saying goes, “If You Can’t Beat Them, Recruit Them”, OK that’s not quite right but you get the idea.
The San Francisco 49ers have signed RB Brandon Jacobs to a one year deal. He joins his former NY Giants teammate WR Mario Manningham who recently inked a 2 year deal with San Francisco.
In Manningham the 49ers are getting a young, talented wide receiver with a lot of potential, that was a good pick up for them especially when you consider their deficiencies at the wide receiver position. The Brandon Jacobs picl up on the other hand is not a very good one in my opinion. The former big bruising Continue reading
Brandon Jacobs Released by the New York Giants
It’s official Running Back Brandon Jacobs has been released by the New York Giants.
His contract was terminated by the organization after failing to come up with a suitable agreement for the big RB. Despite a successful Super Bowl Championship season, Jacobs had slowly but surely worn out his welcome.
Some of his comments during the season were out of line, his play was also not up to par. He improved somewhat towards the end of the season but the 6’4″ 260+ lbs back seem to find it difficult to gain a yard in 3rd and short situations. It was also clear that Brandon Jacobs had lost more than a step when sprinting down field. So you would think the fact the Giants kept him around with a higher salary than a more productive back like Ahmad Bradshaw would humble him a bit but Continue reading

Brandon Jacobs Needs a New TD Dance – Video

Seriously, Brandon Jacobs needs a new TD dance! The big New York Giants RB looked more like a Chippendale’s dancer than a bruising running back.
I’m very happy to see Brandon running with authority and purpose once again. He has progressed very nicely the last few weeks and had a break out game week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys. Jacobs rushed for 101 yards on 19 carries and scored 2 touchdowns.
This dance is a bit disturbing, funny and weird all rolled into one. Here is the video. Continue reading
NY Giants Leap Over Dallas Cowboys in Crazy NFC East Game
Literally, the New York Giants leap over the Dallas Cowboys week 14 and win 37-34 in an NFC East showdown. The win places the GMEN in first place.
This was a crazy game, there is just no other way to describe it. A seesaw battle full of lead changes and dramatic moments which ultimately defined the game.
Early in the game Giants RB Brandon Jacobs leaps over Cowboys Safety Gerald Sensabaugh in a spectacular run. Late in the game New York’s Jason Pierre-Paul leaps and blocks a Dan Bailey FG attempt which preserves the 3 point lead and gives Big Blue a needed victory over their arch rivals. A positive and exciting win for sure but Continue reading
Saints QB Drew Brees Dissects New York Giants Defense
New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees Dissects the New York Giants defense week 12 and blows them out of the Superdome. Final score 49-24.
Second straight week in which New York seemed completely out of it. They displayed little passion out on the field and their glaring weaknesses are now being exposed as they face tougher opposition. The Giants now find themselves in a familiar place, right smack in the middle of a second half collapse which has become a recurring theme under coach Tom Coughlin.
What is really frustrating for fans is that everyone knows the Giants season is on the line yet they are not playing like it. Missed tackles, dropped balls, dumb penalties have plagued the GMEN this season but even more surprising is the lack of a rushing attack and even more surprising than that is Continue reading
NY Giants Embarrassed Themselves Against The Philadelphia Eagles
The New York Giants fail to show up and embarrassed themselves against the Philadelphia Eagles at home in one of the most important games of the season, final score 17-10.
A win versus their divisional opponent would have practically destroyed any aspirations the Eagles had for the playoffs. It would have also meant that the Giants would be in sole possession of first place in the NFC East. New York now has company in the form of the surging Dallas Cowboys.
It’s almost inconceivable to think New York could lose this game. Two of the Eagles best players were out, QB Michael Vick and WR Jeremy Maclin. The Giants stopped LeSean McCoy holding him to 53 yards until he broke a 60 yard run in the last seconds of the game which was pretty much inconsequential. Vince Young threw 3 interceptions during the game and Philadelphia scored only 17 points. If you knew all this information but had yet to watch the game, I’m sure most would have thought the Eagles lost the contest. Unfortunately for Giants fans anything and everything is possible.
