NY Giants vs Oakland Raiders Video Highlights

The NY Giants practically run over the Oakland Raiders in week 5 of the 2009 NFL season. The game held on Sunday 10/11 was played in Giants Stadium at 1pm. We have a much more difficult game next week versus another unbeaten team in the New Orleans Saints.

Here are the video highlights of this easy victory for Big Blue.

NY Giants Shutout The Tampa Bay Bucs 24-0

The NY Giants shutout the Tampa Bay Bucs 24-0 in week 3 of the 2009 NFL season.

On paper the game looked as it should be an easy win for The G-Men but there are always possibilities of a let down with these type of matchups. Big Blue did not have a let down game though, they totally dominated the Bucs on both sides of the field. They controlled the time of possession and on defense they put a ton of pressure on QB Byron Leftwich.

The G-Men finally got 3 scores in the red zone but lets not forget they were playing Tampa Bay. There were a couple of questionable calls by offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride which were pretty frustrating to watch. In one series the Giants were within 15 yards (red zone) and Gilbride calls 3 straight runs which were all stopped. Even when New York was at 3rd and 10 he called a run, which was stuffed.

Brandon Jacobs had a sub-par game in my opinion even though he carried 26 times for 92 yards, his running has become very soft. On a positive note Ahmad Bradshaw had a great game running for over 104 yards and averaging 7.4 yards per carry. Eli Manning threw for two touchdowns and was 14 for 24 and threw for 161 yards. Manning was pulled from the game and replaced with David Carr in mop up time. Steve Smith continued his good play with 7 catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. Smith made some key catches to help preserve drives. Even Sinorice Moss got into the action catching his first pass of the year for a touchdown.

An easy win for Big Blue who has come from two tough back to back matchups versus NFC East rivals.

Giants vs Cowboys

Week 2 of the 2009 NFL season features a tough matchup between the NY Football Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. The game is scheduled for Sunday 9/20/09 at 8:20pm.

Every game is important but even more so when we play NFC East rivals. Playoff implications begin week one as far as I am concerned especially when you play on the East coast with talented teams such as the Redskins, Eagles and Cowboys, arguably the toughest division in all of football. None of the teams mentioned above including the Giants were under 500 last year.

The Cowgirls beat the Tampa Bay Bucs this past Sunday and I have to say I was not very impressed. I was however suprised at how well the Bucs looked with their new coach and practically new team. Tampa Bay has lost or fired many of their core veterans and also their coach Jon "Chucky" Gruden. The game was very tight going into the 4th quarter, I believe it was 20-14 when Romo connected for a long TD pass. They had 2 huge plays in this game courtesy of broken coverages by the secondary. I do not see these types of lucky plays occurring when the Giants play them.

This game should have been much easier for Dallas, the score reflects an easy game but the reality is that it was close until a big play in the last quarter as previously mentioned. Cadillac Williams and Ward ran all over them so imagine what Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw will do to them.

Tony Romo had a good game stats wise but he threw a couple of balls that should have been intercepted. The Giants always put a lot of pressure on Tony, he usually runs around trying to extend the play and makes mistakes and I can see that happening this Sunday night.

I expect the Giants to win this game even though we are playing at Dallas in their new stadium which should be a ruckus atmosphere. As of now many Vegas outlets have the Cowboys as a 3 point favorite a few have it even. It will be a tough game but then again New York is used to playing these grind it out affairs. Big Blue all the way!
