New York Giants Are Tom Brady’s Kryptonite
Every super hero has a weakness and for Tom Brady the New York Giants are his equivalent of Superman’s Kryptonite.
The GMEN present a serious problem for the Patriots and Tom Terrific. Without a doubt they are the most complete team New England has faced in the playoffs. Throw away regular season stats where an injured Giants team suffered through a very tough season. When the playoffs began New York had most of their starters back and were clicking on both offense and defense.
Here are the unique issues New England will face in Super Bowl XLVI (46). Continue reading
Why The NY Giants Do Not Fear The San Francisco 49ers
All you need to look at is the week 10 game between these 2 teams to understand why the NY Giants do not fear the San Francisco 49ers.
Despite losing the week 10 match-up 27-20 the GMEN played gutsy and were in position to tie the game with seconds remaining in the 4th quarter. A series of really bad play calls by offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride really hindered the Giants chances of pulling out a win.
Last week I wrote an article titled “5 Reasons the New York Giants Will Beat the Green Bay Packers“, many of the points I made apply to this weeks game. This current Giants team is not the same as the one San Fran faced earlier in the season. New York is healthier and playing Continue reading
5 Reasons The New York Giants Will Beat The Green Bay Packers
Not too many people think the New York Giants will beat the Green Bay Packers this coming Sunday in the NFC Divisional Playoffs. The odds makers certainly don’t believe in Big Blue who currently find themselves 7.5 point underdogs.
I understand it’s probably natural to gravitate towards Goliath (that’s why he is Goliath). I’m sure the Giants are very content with being David. Why wouldn’t they? We all know how that story ends!
The high point spread is what surprises me especially when the first meeting between these two teams was decided in the final seconds. Not too mention how much help the Packers received from referee Jeff Triplette and his crew during that game. This current Giants team is not the same squad Green Bay faced in the week 13 match-up, this team is much better! Continue reading
Week 11 Philadelphia Eagles vs NY Giants Preview
Preview NFC East battle week 11 the Philadelphia Eagles vs the NY Giants on Sunday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford NJ.
Records never matter when NFC East teams face off, these games are always tough and played hard by both teams. New York however if in the playoff hunt with a record of 6-3 and a-top the division while Philadelphia is 3-6 and looking to run the table in order to have a chance to make the playoffs.
Statistically these two teams are evenly matched in certain categories but differ greatly in others. It remains to be seen if Michael Vick will play week 11, the Giants already know they will be missing some key players including their starting running back Ahmad Bradshaw. Here is how these rivals stack up. Continue reading
Preview: NY Giants vs San Francisco 49ers Week 10
NFL week 10 preview, the NY Giants vs the San Francisco 49ers game to be played on Sunday 11/13 at Candlestick park. Game start time 4:15pm.
Once again New York is an underdog, this week they face the best rushing defense in the NFL. San Francisco is favored by 3.5 points in the latest Week 10 NFL Point Spread.
Similar to previous weeks the GMEN aren’t given much of a chance to win this road game by football analysts. The combination of facing such a stout run defense without their best running back in Ahmad Bradshaw certainly will hurt the Giants but other factors do favor New York and an upset victory is very possible. Lets examine the stats, strengths and weaknesses of both teams. Continue reading
Week 9 NY Giants vs New England Patriots Preview 2011
Preview week 9 game between the NY Giants vs the New England Patriots of the 2011 NFL season. Game to be played on Sunday 11/6, 4:15pm at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.
New York is currently an 8.5 point underdog versus New England. In part because it’s a home game for the Patriots but also because the Giants have not been getting any respect despite their 5-2 record.
This game is winnable for the GMEN, even though the Pats also have a 5-2 record their defense has not been up to par this season. They are also coming off a bad loss against the Steelers who provided a blue print on how to play “Mr. Perfect” Tom Brady. Continue reading
Week 8 Miami Dolphins vs NY Giants Preview
Week 8 preview of the game between the (0-6) Miami Dolphins versus the (4-2) New York Giants. The game is to be played on Sunday 10/30/11 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Start time is 1:00 PM.
New York is coming off their bye week and should be well rested with the possibility of some key players coming back from injuries. Miami on the other hand is coming off a difficult loss against Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos this past weekend. They had a 15-0 lead and ended up losing the game in over time.
This game will provide a good assessment of where the Giants stand and where they may be headed. Many people are calling it a trap game Continue reading
