New York Giants Beat the Oakland Raiders 44-7
The New York Giants easily defeat the Oakland Raiders 44-7.
This week 5 match-up between the G-Men and Oakland played out the way everyone expected. Big Blue dominated on defense and offense. The game was in hand by half time and Eli Manning was given the second half off to rest his injured foot. David Carr came in and did not miss a beat.
For weeks now I have been telling anyone who will listen that Ahmad Bradshaw should be our number one running back and this week he had another great game. Bradshaw keeps outplaying Brandon Jacobs week in and week out this season. Ahmad ended with only 11 carries for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns. He averaged 10 yards a carry! Compare that to Brandon who carried the ball 21 times for only 67 yards for an average of 3.2 yards per carry. By the way Bradshaw also had a 55 yard reception.
Eli Manning keeps playing well, in only one half of work he threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns and had 8 completions on 10 attempts. Wide receiver Steve Smith did not have a spectacular game but he still managed to catch 3 balls for 70 yards (23.3 average yards per catch). Hakeem Nicks played a nice game with 49 yards on 4 receptions and a touchdown. Mario Manningham also caught a TD.
The defense was solid! A total of 6 sacks, 2 by Justin Tuck. Terrell Thomas, Mathias Kiwanuka and Tuck all recovered a fumble.
The NY Giants now have a record of 5-0 and are getting set to go into a very tough stretch of games in the upcoming weeks. Next week we will see the undefeated and high powered New Orleans Saints led by Dru Brees, it should be a very exciting and hard fought match-up.
