Safety Kenny Phillips was officially placed on the Injured Reserved list and is done for the season. The NY Giants were awarded Safety Aaron Rouse who was just cut by the Green Bay Packers yesterday.

Rumors started earlier today after head coach Tom Coughlin's vague comments regarding the talented safety's condition.

Phillips had a great game week 2 vs the Dallas Cowboys. He had two key interceptions which helped seal the victory for the G-Men, all this while playing hurt. Team doctors diagnosed him with patellofemoral arthritis in the left knee. The hope was that his condition would improve but unfortunately for Big Blue it got worst.

Kenny is an integral part of our secondary and will be missed. He had a very good rookie year and was looking to expand on his added experience which Tom Coughlin thought would be good enough to make the pro bowl.

Kenny was quoted as saying “It never crossed my mind, ever,”. “I knew the situation. I just felt I could push it through the season. So to get this news is a real shock.” I am sure Giants fans are also surprised and shocked at this latest news after his performance on Sunday night.
