Justin Tuck Defensive Player of the Week
NY Giants player Justin Tuck was named defensive player of the week after his performance versus the Washington Redskins.
He had a total of 5 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks and 3 hits on the Washington QB Jason Campbell. Out of his five tackles, four were solo and two of those tackles went for losses for the Redskins.
Osi Umenyiora also had a great game with impressive totals of his own which included a defensive touchdown on a play where he stripped the QB, recovered the fumble and ran for the TD.
Justin Tuck is a five year professional player who came into his own last year after anchoring a stout Giants defensive line. He was forced into a primary role after a season ending injury to Umenyiora and he handled the added responsibility very well. He was named to the 2008 Pro Bowl and recognized as one of the best players at his position. This year with his added experience and the return of Osi the Giants defense looks to be one of the best, not only in the NFC but all of football.

The Giants have a killer defense, can’t wait till we take care of the Cowboys this week.
Osi actual had a better week that Tuck if you really look at overall stats. He had the best play of he game with the TD.
I also thought Umenyiora was gonna get the award, Tuck is also worthy though, coin toss.
